The Forum of Chalcogeniders congratulates Academician Professor Doctor Andrei Andriesh, with the occasion of this 71-th anniversary. Academician Andrei Andriesh is one of the greatest scientists in the physics of chalcogenide glasses of the twentieth century. Academician Andriesh essentially contributed to the development of the field of disordered semiconductors. He created a school of research in Moldova and many of his pupils are now famous scientists. His prodigious activity as a President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Republic, his creativity and sense of measure in all his actions are examples for the young people and encourage those who dare to approach the difficult but rewarding way of the physics of disordered materials.
